istrict one needs a council member who will lead with conviction, common sense, and conservative values. With decades of experience, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to doing what’s right, Buddy is ready to serve our county with integrity and defend the principles that matter most.

Why me?

My decision to run for County Council originated last year when I attended a council meeting to express my opposition to a proposed amendment that would have placed the question of Sunday alcohol sales on the ballot. The council could have stopped this measure with a majority vote not to advance it, which would have ended the matter. However, the majority voted 5–1 to place it on the ballot, with Councilman David Sinclair casting the only vote against it. I believed the true conservative position was to reject the amendment at that point. Recognizing that only one council member had taken that stance, I felt compelled to act. As a Christian, I believe every decision in life should be approached prayer- fully, and after much prayer and discussion with my wife, I decided to seek election to represent my district when the opportunity arose. I bring with me 50 years of workforce experience that I believe would be a strong asset to this position. Now retired, I have the time necessary to dedicate myself fully to serving the citizens of our county. I am a Christian, guided by common sense and conservative principles, and I will vote accordingly. My philosophy is straightforward: if a measure benefits the county, we should pursue it; if it does not, we should not. Thank you for your time and consideration, Buddy Parris

Testimonials

“I have had the privilege of being Buddy’s pastor for more than 30 years. During that time, he has faithfully served as a Sunday School teacher, a choir member, and a devoted member of our church. His character and commitment to doing what’s right never waver. I’m confident he will bring that same steady, principled leadership to the people of Union County. We could not ask for anyone better to represent us in district 1.” Pastor Robert Jarvis Welcome Baptist Church
